Medical Assisting

This program is designed to prepare students to work as Medical Assistants. The student will be able to work at a Doctors Office, Clinic or Hospital. The student will be able to assist the Doctor in office medical procedures, schedule patient appointment and bill patients. Students will be trained in the areas of communications, legal and ethical responsibilities, administrative and clinical duties, health and illness concept, anatomy and physiology, medications and will learn to perform basic nursing procedures under the doctors supervision.

Students in the Medical Assisting Program receive a strong foundation in bio-science on which to build the skills and knowledge to provide patient care and physician support. The program also emphasizes communication skills that give graduates a competitive edge for entry into the health careers profession.
